All three of my kids (9, 7, 4) love this book.

He tags the moose with the name Marcel and then begins to explain the rules to his oblivious pet. My 7 year old did not enjoy this book.

K-Gr 2-Wilfred wants a pet, so when a moose just happens to wander by, the boy claims him as his own and dedicates a lot of time to teaching Marcel the rules of being a good one. I just discovered the works of Oliver Jeffers with this book and I can tell it is one of the funniest and more clever children books I have read in a long time. One day, however, Wilfred discovers that his moose might have a whole other life that he knows nothing about. A great story!

Indeed, the pair happens upon a little old lady only to discover that Marcel is actually Rodrigo, and not Willard’s moose at all.
